Lake Macquarie Private Hospital (LMPH) or 'Lake Mac' is an 187 bed hospital located approximately 20 minute drive from Newcastle CBD. It has the only private Emergency Department in the area as well as intensive care and coronary care units, and offers admission for a range of medical and surgical presentations. It also has a thriving elective surgery service ranging from joint replacements to cardiac procedures.
The Junior Medical Officer role at LMPH is primarily based in the Emergency Department, with occasional ward work and is based around a rolling week on, week off roster providing plenty of great opportunities to explore all that Australia has to offer.
